Danner Mag Mag 7 or 5 for the return pump?
Hi, I'm creating a new reef tank and can not decide on the pump for purchase. I have a daughter 29 for display and a girl of 20 years (long term) in the drain. I have pierced the tank and the housing with 3 / 4 granel''ID heads. I put in a magazine 7, which produces 450 GPH @ 4 feet. but I do not know if my son 3 / 4 ID tubing "Who could handle a lot of overflow into the crankcase. On the other hand produced MAG 310 GPH @ 5 4 feet. that probably work, I wonder if anyone has any suggestions. do you think of 7 MAG would work or to play around with security MAG 5 keywords: salt pan refuge SPS LPS coral marine macroinvertebrates clam shell lighting algae
I would go with 5 to Mag on the safe side. Overflow always match at the pump unless the pump can flow more water than can handle overflow. In this case, the tank overflow as much water is pumped in the tank. The collector does not overflow, even if the pump is a poorly rated. Infinity in some way be adjusted at the pump.
